Removing a pointer from an eyepiece.
Hello everyone,
I recently purchased a Swift SW150, it's a good microscope. My only issue is that the 10x eyepiece has a pointer, since I plan to do extensive video/photo work this is kinda annoying. I'm not quite sure how to remove it, any advice? I've attached a photo showing what it looks like:

They can usually be pulled out.
You should be able to take photos without the pointer showing - and just might want to have it now and then. In that case, buy a third objective of the same type?

It's held in by a circular springy wire. Look in the bottom of the lens unit to see it. You can just pull it out.

Were it so easy, I tried numerous times with a very thin plastic stick I had to pull it out. It's not budging. My finger isn't small enough to fit in without potentially touching the actual lens. I've decided to just email Swift about it, honestly they should've just put this information in the manual.DonSchaeffer wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 4:16 amIt's held in by a circular springy wire. Not sure about photos but it doesn't seem to be possible for videos as seen here.

If you have a binocular Swift scope, just use the clear tube.TriniSpiderGuy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 8:47 pm. . .

If you have a monocular, consider either removing the pointer or buying another eyepiece. Your intended camera can help you decide. A USB eyepiece camera could just drop in. Cell phone cameras make decent movies; and for them it's handy to leave them attached to a holder with a spare (older, cheaper) phone.

It's true. Got this monocular from Vortex(reviewed). Support doesn't work at all! It was strange but cheaper to buy a new eyepiece than fix the problems of existing in service... What a dumb worldPeteM wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 9:49 pmIf you have a binocular Swift scope, just use the clear tube.TriniSpiderGuy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 8:47 pm. . .
