Npl fluotar 40L 0.60

Cordial greetings.
Does anyone have a solution for using this objective on a non-inverted microscope?

Use a measured slide as a coverslip. There are also thick coverslips used for haemocytometers , usually .4 but I think there are thicker ones as well.

Ah okay ,now I understand ,I have to make a sandwich with two slides , one below and one above, measured from 0.6 onwards.

Another way is simply use a thick flat well slide (use, for example 1mm of water with or without cover slip), focus with fine focus, then turn cover slip correction collar and select the best position by visual judgement. You can calculate how much water is equivalent to 1mm of glass, for example, but I forgot the formula.

I prefer Apochronaut 's slide as cover slip approach though. You can use a little bit of immersion oil type B or wax around the sides to lift up the "cover slide" very slightly to avoid crushing protists or suffocating everything.

That is a very nice objective, by the way.

It might be an idea to use the objective for observations in a hanging drop.
