He is trying to put a condenser on a quite good quality Meopta AZ-2 portable microscope, yet with only 20mm vertical space to do it in. The AZ-2 was not supplied with a condenser originally but at .45 N.A. , the high power objective it was fitted with would benefit some from a condenser. This microscope would be hard to replace cheaply with one of equivalent portability coupled to optical quality. The key here, is it's diminutive size yet with optical quality equivalent to a full size microscope.
It would seem so. I'll be over here in the corner eating more paint chips if anyone needs me. :P
