Hi,

I am desperately looking for a material science/industrial upright microscopy objective lens with the following specs:

type: infinity
magnification: 2
tube lens focal length = 180mm

Please do suggest your options.

Cheers!
Mucho gracias -

Did we already have a go at this? 2.5x gives you a couple options--there's the olympus mplanapo 2.5x and the nikon cf plan 2.5x, maybe the aus jena cf250 2.5x if you're feeling adventuresome. Leica/Reichert had options which might be OK without their proprietary correcting optics, or maybe not.
If you want a 2x metallurgical objective you'd probably need to go 95mm parfocal. The thorlabs 2x superapo is amazing.
At low mag you'll likely need a quarter wave plate for good performance in coaxial epi brightfield but I think you know that.

The Polyvar Met offered a 2x objective as well as A 1.25 objective that is 45mm parfocal and designed for RL light applications The cat number is 248101 There could a a 9 in front of the 2 depending on the publication date of the literature. FYI the 1.25 is cat number 245105 also with a 9 infront of the 2. I don't recall if these were RMS threaded or the RL objective thread from the Polyar and MeF.
