Yet another Japanese microscope company.

Shodensha. They seem to make mostly industrial scopes , stereos , trinocular stereos, measuring instruments but their not very good website also lists biological microscopes. They seem to be Japanese in production with offices also in Thailand and Vietnam.

Good find! Alas, at least the stereos on their site are standard Chinese offerings. Then again even Meiji is selling some Chinese scopes now.

I'd be curious to know if Shodensa makes its own line of Japanese stereo microscopes or if the OEM business is mostly vision systems?

Strangely enough … I recognised the name, from an enquiry that I made in 2021

They were offering an interesting USB 3 camera at the time [before most others had made that leap]
… it came to nothing, because of shipping arrangements, but I remember them being helpful and courteous.

They do claim to be manufacturers but maybe for items other than microscopes. I wonder at what point China will start outsourcing to production facilities elsewhere.
Perhaps in Africa somewhere. Africa will become the China of China.
