I am considering adding an additional objective to my assortment for observing pond life..either 20x or 25x.
Which would you recommend and why?
Thanks
Adding an brightfield objective..20x or 25x?

Either 20X, or 25X work for me...often you need more than 2X,m 4X, 10X with protists and meiofauna. charlie g

Doesn't matter, just take what is available for your scope.

Your add on objective has to work in your system : have corrections that are equivalent to other objectives in your existing system, so I can't think of an instance where a company made both in the same optical family. You will have the choice of one or the other.

Meaning: you require an objective of the same brand and same era as the rest of your scope.apochronaut wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 11:51 pmYour add on objective has to work in your system : have corrections that are equivalent to other objectives in your existing system, so I can't think of an instance where a company made both in the same optical family. My Olympus 20* is by far my most used objective for pond dipping, and indeed 20 or 25* both are OK.
