Hello, sorry for all the posts, still learning.
These two objectives are a decent price, but I cannot find anything on them in the Leica spreadsheets. I'm assuming they are pre-HC and will work with the DMRB, and I'm trying to figure out if they use the K3 condenser prism, which I have (I also have a 'D' prism already). Any thoughts, or should I go with better known lenses (HCX or the like)? I probably don't totally need the iris but it is sort of a good price..
one last question on Leica objectives for DMRB

If you ever plan on doing high resolution DF you will need the iris.

Can you do darkfield at 100x with just the iris, or do you need a different insert for the condenser?
I'm also a bit interested in increasing the depth of field with the iris for thick samples.
Anyway, Leica actually got back to me about these objectives- yes, they are the older, 'delta' optics so will work with the DMRB. They use K3 and K4 condenser prisms (which I have, yay). So maybe I will get them.

To get dark field with the 100x you need some dedicated dark field condenser.

Re: one last question on Leica objectives for DMRB
I don't know whether Leica continued with the Reichert and AO toric condenser or not. It is kind of a W.F. DF condenser and can cover a 2000 micron field, so can be used with a 10X objective and 10X/20 eyepieces. That would be the DF condenser to look for.

Re: one last question on Leica objectives for DMRB
It comes with this darkfield DS1 insert, I'm hoping this will at least give darfeild at 10x. 5x would be nice too, even if the illumination isn't even. I'm guessing it will not work for 40x and 100x- I would need the specialized condenser you spoke of? I did buy these objectives. I'm not sure how much I need 100x darkfield but it would be kind of cool to have the capability. But most of the stuff I do is at 10x.
I did find K2 and A prisms from microscopia.de, for low mag DIC. And some Leica objectives. Things are coming together.
thanks
