Stjepo, looks like it's intended for a stereo microscope - likely including both a pol filter and a wave plate.

The line labeled gamma is commonly used to indicate the orientation of a waveplate so that supports Pete's guess.

Thanks again dear PeteM, thanks hans. What I am a little clearer about is that it is not for a Nikon brand stereo microscope. I have SMZ 1, SMZ 2 and SMZ 10 and I can't attach this accessory to any of them. What brand will it be? I haven't found anything on the Internet.

You might get a better guess if you can measure the dovetail and match it up with a scope.

My guess is that the oblong windows (probably wave plate, clear, and polarizing) are meant to accommodate stereo paths. It's possible it fits on the end of a Greenough scope or under the head in a CMO scope. The lack of any model number or name suggests (to me) that it is either early (say, Zeiss???) or from a second-tier but quality maker.

I think I have seen this or a similar one sold as a Zeiss accessory before. I suspect it would clip onto the lip at the bottom of a greenough stereo microscope--you would not use this shape on the front of a CMO objective.
