Accu Scope 3001

#1 Post by MicroMan2 » Sun Dec 06, 2015 12:43 am

I'd like to know the thoughts for those who have or worked with this instrument. Its accessories and where to buy it at an affordable Canadian price.
Here is the link to the one I found for sale:http://microscopecentral.com/products/a ... 7718300033
I would like suggestions for either more modifiable scopes that are affordable or more in-depth analysis of the Accu-scope's specs.

I have experience with this microscope and it is a sound and serviceable instrument with a limited number of accessories.

I can't answer any of the other parts of the question.

How is the instrument limited in terms of accessories?

It's like most Chinese microscopes. There are a couple of objective packages, phase, darkfield (to a simple degree), simple polarizing, a triocular body, and maybe a couple of illumination choices, and certainly the 20X eyepieces. Most of the time the accessories fit only the one frame. If your needs are within this group of accessories, then you are set,

When I think of a broad range of options I think of Nikon, Olympus, Zeiss, and Leica, who build modular systems where accessories are universal to several frames.

Not knowing your background or experience it is difficult to make a meaningful suggestion, but this microscope is certainly not a bad place to start.
