Help with a crooked fine focus knob

#1 Post by MicroMan2 » Wed Jul 22, 2020 7:07 pm

I have bought an Olympus BH2-BHT Microscope a while back and found that the right focus knob is misaligned relative to the drive shaft. This leads to a crooked fine focus knob which may or may not function properly. Does anybody know if its possible to straighten the focus knob and align it back to the drive shaft. For further information, the nylon gear of the system is intact so if a tactful disassembly process is possible, I would like to know. Here is a link to a picture for further information:

Fortunately, the repair of BH2 microscopes is extremely well documented, in detail; the author is Carl Hunsinger: appears on Alan Wood's site.

For Olympus BH2 repair guides refer to the Alan Wood site: he host the excellent guides from Carl H.
