About 20 years ago, I bought 400 slides from the estate of a biology professor. Most of them were of newt abuse for his Phd.
Many were histological. Today I found two slides that I had overlooked before they were just labeled TP and TP intestine 1929
It turns out that people used to study water quality by catching tadpoles and sectioning their intestines to see what they were feeding on.
Each of my two slides has about 20 intestine sections.
They are time capsule of what the water was like in 1929
This has become my favorite prepared slide.
