Very nice. I'm surprised that you get such a good result from stacking images taken with oblique illumination (I tried it a few times, and always my results were very disappointing).

So am I. :)I'm surprised that you get such a good result from stacking images taken with oblique illumination ...
A little more seriously, not having seen your efforts, I was wondering if the method I used Offset Dark Stop: I swing out the filter holder containing the Dark Stop, is more subtle than other methods and is therefore less of a challenge to use.
As an aside, I sorted out my WB on the video. Turns out the homemade diffuser I was using was too opaque.

Will probably get zerene at some point.
For the moment photoshop works well enough for me.
I have not outgrown it yet :)

Re: Another Pediastrum
Thank you. I use the same method as you-- it is the only way I can get oblique lighting, because with the Nikon condenser I cannot use a stop close to the plane of the condenser aperture to place any stops. I think I just don't have the knack for stacking .75RR wrote:So am I.I'm surprised that you get such a good result from stacking images taken with oblique illumination ...

Most homemade diffusers that I've used do affect the white balance, so I take a custom WB again after I put the diffuser in (unless I forget...)
