more beach sand

Inspired by Hobbyist46's recent post, i put my beach sand on my AO110 with polarized light and stacked some images. The garnets are really nice. Used 40x and 20x objectives. Last image is the sand under the stereoscope. Pink grains are garnet.

This Long Island sand is very nice! Birefringence observations in sand are on my list as well.
