So you focus on your specimen with the 4x, then turn the nose piece to next lens 10x and adjust the fine focus knob to make the image sharp. Is this how you're doing it?

Please explain your process and we can better help you figure out what is going on. I sort of think you may be turning the course focus know instead of the fine focus. When you change objective it should only take very fine adjustments to bring the specimen into clear focus.

Make sure the objective is clean. The image should look perfectly clear.

Looks good. You will only be able to get a portion of the wing in focus at a time as its depth of field is smaller than the relief of the subject

That's probably the problem.
If you're trying to focus on an unmounted specimen that is not absolutely flat you're going to have to search around a little to get it into focus. Get yourself a set of inexpensive prepared specimens to practice with. I think things will come together nicely from there.

That doesn't look like the issue he is having. His image is entirely blurry no part of it appears to be in focus. Maybe the filter holder needs to be moved out of the way or something. Unless that's the camera taking a bad picture.
