Onion

Sony A6300, PMax, 98 photos, Microphot, Nikon 20x BD inf with 135mm TL
Illumination is done with Sanderson prisms and pol filters.

Good photo. Demonstrates sense of depth. Sure looks like an onion. Seems you did well.

Excellent image !!

Just one thought [aside from the interesting choice of colour] ...
As shown, all the cells appear to be cavities, but I presume you didn’t actually section them !

Would you agree with me, that it looks more realistic when rotated 180° ?

Couple days after
Now at 50x+140TL=33.75x, minimal retouching
Dried out and some stuff started growing up ...

[ Aspergillus niger seems a likely candidate though ]

There's definitely a fungusamungus. Closer examination required. Is it capable of movement? That goes a long way toward identification.
