Summary:
Viridiraptor invadens lifestyle and diet is highly specialized: it penetrates Spirogyra cells and feeds on their cell contents.
It is a "amoeboflagellate", so Viridiraptor occurs in both flagellate and amoeboid form, the change between the two occurs within seconds and can be repeated as required by the individual. Both state forms can occur in the free water as well as during the feeding phase inside the host cell.

In its flagellate form, Viridiraptor is round or elongated to drop-shaped, colorless apart from ingested food particles and measures 10-20 µ in diameter. At the front end, where the nucleus is also located, the cell has two flagella about one and a half times the length of the body, especially in the rear part there are food vacuoles and granular extrusomes.
