Return to Salt Water

I risk a look at my granddaughter's salt water aquarium sample.
It had been neglected for months and I almost feared a monster
lived in there. Biofilm in the salt water has a different look
than in fresh water, differently patterned.
I found bacteria swarming and many cyno-bacteria and diatoms.
I moved my viewpoint a little away from the biofilm lump and
found a surprise family of interesting ciliates.

Looks like a very lively sample you have there Don. I have never looked at salt water and wouldn't know what ciliates lived in this type of water compared to freshwater but I really liked your video. You need to do some research and find out some names of those little critters.
