Some help with photography
Some help with photography
Now that I have a half decent scope, I am trying to get some decent images. I am still trying to learn how to light specimens and getting the right balance of resolution and contrast. Please have a look and let me know what you think.

.
I think you might get more feedback if you provided some details.
Knowing what microscope, objectives, slide preparation and illumination technique you used would help.

Re: Some help with photography
To help with my lighting I have to use a feature of the amscope software called Flat Field Correction while no slide is placed and then adjust the white balance. The Contrast I use varies depending on what my eye thinks looks the best after the earlier steps I outlined are completed. I'm still a beginner so I am learning more techniques
Something else I do only works with non-moving targets but I really like making panoramas using stitching and also for increased field of depth I use a process called stacking. Both processes are available via free programs available on the internet. I tried using the stitching software that Amscope came with but it just freezes and never does anything after the process starts.

- For stacking I use Zerene Stacker (for now until trial runs out)
- For Panoramas I use Microsoft ICE

Re: Some help with photography
ICE has apparently been discontinued. They recommend using The Microsoft Photo Gallery. I downloaded it but haven't ried it for panoramas. Do you know where you can still get ICE?

That address loads a note that says ICE is no longer available.

I think you are a way better photographer than me, and I look forward to seeing what you can do.

I got it from some third party file hosting site such as this link https://image-composite-editor.software ... r.com/2.0/DonSchaeffer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 2:30 pmThat address loads a note that says ICE is no longer available.
Just be careful when downloading from third party sites
