I'm hoping this is a Bursaria truncatella that I found lurking in one of my samples from a canal near to where I live.

There was quite a few of them in the sample. It has a large scoop mouth and i was hoping one of them would eat something but it never happened.

This little beauty is called Thylakidium. Very nice videos!

You'll know Bursaria truncatella when you see it. It's enormous and brown, with a mouth like a two-car garage.

I have bought a new eyepiece and connected it to my phone so I now have higher magnification hence the videos are a little more detailed.

Because of the better videos can you tell which one it is T.truncatum or T. pituitosum

I can't see the macronucleus (round in T. pituitosum, sausage-like in T. truncatum), so nope.

If you see any living in a gelatinous lorica, then these are T. pituitosum.
