epiphytic cyanobacteria

a leaf of an aquatic moss, Leptodictyum riparium, from the backyard canal with the cyanobacterium Heteroleibleinia growing on it

Very nice image, captured at just the right angle to see exactly how they are attached.

This is a good example of an image where you don't need fancy techniques to achieve great results. Thanks for sharing.
