HAB in the Saint Lucie River

was greeted by a bloom of the cyanobacterium Dolichospermum at a park on the Saint Lucie River in Florida this morning:

Exactly! Nice overview article.
While this harmful algal bloom (HAB) hasn't reached the full green slime stage, it is leaving wrack lines on the shore. The temperature of the water has been running around 31-32°C - and this is a river. I am a volunteer monitor with the Phytoplankton Monitoring Network - https://coastalscience.noaa.gov/researc ... ation/pmn/ - and have been watching this creep up over the past couple of months. It exploded over the weekend.
