There just were not very many big ciliates that I could see in the mudpuddle this morning. I did capture a few. The mudpuddle was full of life, however. They were the myriads of nearly impossible-to-see life forms that were doing the work of transforming the biological environment. Many of these very small organisms did have nearly discernable shapes and motions. One could see them moving within the decaying vegetable matter and filling the watery contents of the biome.
