from the Savannas Preserve

a couple of nice desmids and others found in a quick sample during a rain storm in Florida's Savannas Preserve

These are all brightfield illumination of wet (live) mount slides. The Amscope T660c microscope does allow for Kohler illumination, which definitely helps. The camera is Amscope's MU503 via ToupView. For the stacked images, I use Zerene Stacker. Finally, I usually set the white point on the images in Adobe Lightroom (straight out of ToupView tends towards yellow or green).
One of these days, I'll eventually get my Zeiss PhotoMic III up and running - needs quite a bit of work, but it'll be worth it for the 63x plan-apo that the seller somehow missed in the description

Outstanding images from your 660. I have one but it is binocular. I played with it too much when I bought it and thought I had scratched the lens under the head. I was really worried. In desperation I soaked it in alcohol. Turns out all I scratched was the coating on the lens which the alcohol immediately dissolved. Now I have the brightest microscope in the world and images are outstanding. The 660 is a good choice. The t version is out of stock now. I haven't looked at an mu500 series camera and am using an mu1403.

Glad you only dissolved the lens coating and didn't delaminate the lens itself. I've been pretty happy with the 660, a good value within its limits.

Thanks Wes! As for the Photomic, it needs some lubrication and cleaning (easy enough), a replacement bulb (ordered), just received the 47-3024 photo tube (to use with a Nikon DSLR), and figuring out what's working and what's not (according to the seller, "the microscope powers on," but it showed up with no power supply (have since gotten one). So generally what it needs is something that I never seem to have enough of - time.
