Tomato Blossom

We look forward so much to a rich harvest of tomatoes that we overlook the plain-Jane blossom that precedes it. This blossom has a uniqueness and beauty on the microscopic level which can't be appreciated with the unaided eye. The range of cell structures is exceptional, many are not neat and regular. There are crystal-looking hairs that look like towering hooks. The cell organelles can be seen moving around inside the cells.
