copper tartrate

#1 Post by Lomonaut » Sun Sep 19, 2021 10:24 pm

Precipitated copper tartrate crystals, by copper sulphate and tartaric acid.
I'm having a look at many metal tartrates, most are badly soluble and can be precipitated. On the to-do list are tartrates of iron, nickel, cobalt, magnesium, calcium, zinc, chrome(III), cerium...

20x DIC + POL; also, for the first time I used this mysterious quartz wedge slider that came with my Optiphot, it's responsible for the background gradient color.

Beautiful!

Crystals are magic. I am trying to figure out how to do a time lapse. It is like looking at entire cities being built in a matter of hours.
