Nice! Can you share your experience with biospheres? I am thinking of doing a couple.

My biosphere is a five gallon aquarium. It has a container inside that is a separated place for above ground plants to grow. Everything else goes underwater.
I use fresh water plants and water from a pond near by.
Once set up, it is sealed so it is an air tight container and put next to the window for light. Lots of this type of thing going on by lots of people all the time.

Look up Life In A Jar on you tube.

I've been thinking of doing some biospheres as well.
It would be interesting to see a photo of your set up.
One question though: if its a sealed air-tight system, how do you get your critters out?

The top of my aquarium is sealed with saran wrap. I take the wrap off once a week to collect specimens and put new saran wrap on top. I also feed them at that time. Milk, rice, egg shell. Very full of microbes.
