Amoeba with a red tail

This critter was in a recently received sample along with a few other species. Any idea what that red spot is?

Digested Blepharisma maybe?

As you can see, there are a few blepharisma in the sample. So maybe Mr. Amoeba did make a meal of one. I does appear to be internal to him.
