Thanks Francisco, it looks a bit like a free swimming Stentor, but the only reference I could find to Marine Stentors was Stentor multiformis ...

Just checking my notes again, don't know if it will help with the ID but width is 210µm rather than the 170µm posted on the video.

Nice! It does look like a free-swimming Stentor...or some kind of heterotrich, anyway. As you say, Stentor is typically a freshwater genus, but species do turn up in surveys of estuarine and coastal waters, and three species are included in Philip G. Carey's monograph on Marine Interstitial Ciliates.

On occasion I have found "Stentor" ciliates in Mediterranean waters. I thought, perhaps wrongly, of Maristentor
