Interesting. What is your recommendation for first time preparation of ascorbic acid? What property of ascorbic acid makes it amenable to LM? Are they crystals?

Well, I had a bottle of them, and saw that video of MicrobeHunter playing with it. I just dissolved some crystals on a slide with a drop of dish soap (may not be necessary if you use alcohol). Adding alcohol will accelerate the process.
