Adding new vegetation and pure water made substantial difference in the mudpuddle. The over-weaning biofilm was gone, gone back to a the beginning. There were strange masses of tiny cells and very small organisms in the range .01 mm in size or much smaller. There was a rather strange one that looked like a miniature amoeba but moved like a flagellate.
