First sample with my BH2 fluorescence attachment!

#1 Post by josmann » Tue Nov 23, 2021 4:58 am

Picked up a whole BH2 with RFCA attachment for a sick deal on eBay! Had some power supply issues ("working" olympus supply I bought wasn't actually working) but I got those sorted and just fired it up for the first time today. This is using the "B" filter cube for blue excitation and it also came with "G" for green. This marine sample was pulled from the shores of the SF Bay and is full of different things lighting up!

I had the halogen lamp on just a little bit during this recording to bring out the non-fluorescent stuff. The colors aren't exactly accurate since I adjusted the video in post to make the background less yellow/orange. The fluorescence colors are still pretty close, though. Will work on my technique more in the future, but I wanted to share first light. Unspeakably amazing seeing this for the first time!
