Diatom Explosion

The algae islands floating around in my stagnant water puddle (my mud puddle) is now alive with a burst of mature diatoms. My guess is that these organisms must have gone through their staged sexual reproduction process. The diatoms and the cyanobacteria dominate the scene. But all the others in the cast are their playing minor roles.
