Both are very nice. You are making good use of your DIY filters.

Very nice. What is the NA of the 20x you used for darkfield?
Zeiss Standard WL (somewhat fashion challenged) & Wild M8
Olympus E-P2 (Micro Four Thirds Camera)

Thanks to all.

75RR, the NA of the 20x is 0.40 and I use a 23mm dark spot in the filter holder. It may be a little too large as the image is quite dark but it took me forever to get it centered over a piece of clear plastic cut to my 32mm diameter filter holder. I find if I lower the condenser about 3-5mm,s the image brightens considerably. I may be wrong but I think you were the one who posted a guide for dark spot filters based on obj. size and NA. If it was you, thanks. If it wasn't you thanks to whoever it was :)

For my 4x and 10x obj's I use a US penny (about 23mm's) glued to a clear plastic disc that I lay on top of the lamp. The lamp is an LED so no heat.
