Bacteria are prokaryotes without a true nucleus and really really small. A Paramecium is a protozoan and has cell structure more similar to us. You have Paramecia living in damp spots in your lawn.

Fantastic image capture, thank you, thank you sinabro. If a tiny grey gondola was attached midway along this ciliate , I'd ask where did you film this blimp!

Is your scope infinity-DIC, or 160mm-DIC? When you 'upgrade'...think about selling this trans-DIC setup...hint, hint. Thanks for your shared microscopy, charlie g, who pines for a trans-DIC system.
