Micro Music 15: Chromatic Hunt

#1 Post by Javier » Sun May 08, 2022 3:56 pm

I had an old video of a Dileptus performing his elegant proboscis dance. The quality is not good, its is irremediably over exposed and chromatic aberration is showing in an ugly way. Nevertheless, I decide to compose an original music for it, since I don't know when I'm going to find a Dileptus again. I added a lot of chromatics notes to the piece, so I called it "Chromatic Hunt".

Hope you like it!

Hi Javier,

very nice video with perfectly fitting music! It really looks like the Dileptus is dancing to your music. I think the colours are fully ok, in darkfield the colours are frequently differing from brightfield. If I have something to complain, it is the missing scale bar. Without that, I never know how large these animals are.

Is that possible to achieve when doing afocal imaging and using digital zoom to avoid vignetting?

Hi Javier,

I checked with Davinci Resolve: If you use a scale bar designed in Photoshop and overlay it with your video, you can set a zoom level for both channels separately. If both digital zoom levels are the same, the scale bar is synchronized with the video.

Thanks so much.
The wealth of knowledge shared here is priceless.
I have a daughter who might be able to explain it all to me while getting my computer to do these things.
