I had a nice slide with some pondwater. It had plenty of ciliates to look at so I put it in my box-with-wet-tissue-paper.
I had noticed the banana shaped/coloured thing but thought nothing of it. The next day this enormous white thing was coming out of it.
The day after roots started to grow at the end, and inside the roots you can see stuff moving to and from! I always thought plants were boring static things.
Maybe its a grass seed. Judging from the closterium closeby I'd say the seed is maybe half a milimeter in length.

Re: a growing seed
I do lots of plants. I've never been bored with it. There's so much I don't understand. You put a seeding in the ground. It begins to grow, but directly under it is a large stone. The roots will grow down to about two inches from the stone, then turn sideways to avoid it. How did it know the stone was there? Baffling!
