Mushroom (or "toadstool") "fruit."
The cell structure was easy to see--I shot the head of the mushroom and the cells in the stem Inside the head of the mushroom were spore cells as well as structural cells. At least that's my guess.

I'm no expert, but that 4th picture looks like spores to me.

I'm no expert either, but I think you are right. This was a live fungus. The photo shows the cell structures and the spores.
