Nice video, well observed! I always find it amazing, how these simple organisms are able to show quite some dedication when they want to reach their goals.

Thanks. The full video somehow got truncated and is missing the left half making it over the algae. Just a short observation generates lots of questions:
How is cytoplasm flow directed from one end to the other?
Is the cytoplasm pushed around or is it just flowing like capillary action in response to pseudopodia extension?
Can they sense prey at a distance and extend pseudopodia in that direction?
What chemistry is involved in digesting engulfed prey?
How energy efficient is the metabolism?
Is there a “head” and “tail”?
What defensive mechanisms are used, if any?
Time to hit the internet for answers.
