Testa Amoeba (Lagenodifflugia?) feeds on algae

#1 Post by Javier » Fri Aug 05, 2022 11:25 pm

Hi everyone,

Given the poor quality of my microscope, I usually don't even bother to capture on video these small amoebas, but I enjoy a lot observing them. I noticed that this Testa Amoeba (maybe Lagenodifflugia?) was actively feeding on some algae, so I took my phone and capture this moment. The video is speeded up to 400 times the first part, and 900 the last part.

Hope you like it!

I thought this was very skillfully made.

You are most kind. Maybe I did not express correctly. I think my microscope is wonderful for its cost, I'm amazed of what I can see through it, and I think it was one of the best cost-benefit items I have purchased in my life. I just think this was a tough target for my scope and better optics would make a huge difference.
