Great catch! Really nicely captured on video and an extremely interesting organsim. Could you tell us about the sample, where exactly did you find this beast?

Wes: I took the sample on the banks of the Ibaizábal river, among a dense proliferation of spirogyra-type algae, along with bottom debris. You can see a photograph of the collection point at the end of the video. At the moment the river has very little flow due to the tremendous drought that is plaguing the entire Iberian Peninsula

Thank you for the explanation Luis. I have seen one of these very large amoebas only ones and it was in a very similar habitat rich in filamentous algae. I am currently in Southern Spain and its muy caliente so I can understand the drought problem.
