Sytoplasmic streaming in Physarum

#1 Post by karhukainen » Wed Aug 10, 2022 1:52 pm

I grew a plasmodium normally and placed a cover slip on top of it for about one day. That way it grew on the glass and maintained its form under the microscope. The cytoplasm flows rhythmically and changes direction about every 100 seconds. The microscopy parts are 8x speed.

This is a very cool experience. Thanks for sharing!

Which magnifications did you use under the scope?

Thanks! The first clip was shot with 4x objective and the latter ones 20x.
