It is hard starting out in this hobby to identify what you see, at least with precision. So, the little guy below was in a little rain puddle on top of a rock. I spend a lot of time trying to look these things up and I think this is a Ciliate of some kind. Can you tell me more precisely what it is. I am intrigued by its movement but even more so by how much water in relationship to its size it is able to displace. There is such an immense universe of very small things. Endlessly interesting.

I do not know but judging by the view at the end I would say it is someone starting the process of dividing into two.
Perhaps a Paramecium.

As Javier says, a colpodid ciliate (Colpoda, Bresslaua, etc.).
