Organisms and Pseudo Organisms

#1 Post by DonSchaeffer » Tue Jan 10, 2023 1:31 am

For many months, every other day, I've been looking through my microscope using the 30x and 60x objectives at the contents of a jar of stagnant water. There are two things that fascinate me, the things that look self-contained, enclosed in visible cell boundaries or boundaries with reasonably integrated shapes and the things which may be too small to define their shapes through my microscope, but move in a systematic way as an organism might move. I use the highest magnification I can (a 40x or 60x objective) to achieve high magnifications. I carefully control lighting and use as small a condenser as I can. What I see sustains my interest.
