Rubber Plant Stem In and Out

In a way, the rubber tree stem is hard to photograph. It's the way light interacts with the substance of it. If the specimen is too thick, you can photograph the outside of it vey well, but you can't get focus on anything below the surface tissue. To get reasonably clear photos of the tissue inside the stem you have to slice the specimen very thin. Here I play with making micrographs of rubber tree stem tissue inside and out at low and high power.
