A breed of small mud puddle dwellers still dominate the action in my jar. The populations depend on my luck of the draw. I began this week with a rich pastiche of protists, but I made the mistake of having two or three cover glasses stuck together and that wrecked the whole thing. Once that issue was fixed, I explored the population of small and medium-sized microbes with glee.
