It may be a morbid fascination, but I am fascinated by the way leaves gradually die. As life processes get cut off, the cell structure in particular parts of the leaf radically changes, becoming disorderly and losing the chlorophyll coloration. In the leaves I examined, the process of dying is taking place. The neat cell arrangement gets cut off and the structure becomes unsupportive of growth.
