I share with you birch catkins taken in macro photography and under the microscope as well as buds, seeds also called achene and pollen.

Aaaaaaah, this microscopic world is full of surprises. I think the biomass that you can't see with the naked eye is much more important than what you see. To be confirm . . .

A great set of images, Frank … thanks for sharing them.

I was instantly reminded of a great photograph by Otto Croy, which is probably what started my interest in macro.
