The tangerine (and other similar fruits) has very complicated outer structure to protect the inside. The skin is very thick and lined with a very effective cushioned skin. If you are careful, in certain parts of the skin you can make out an orderly structure. But the cell membranes are very thin and hard to see under the microscope. Most of the inner surface of the skin is a tangle of membrane and fiber.
