Here is a compilation of various Peritrichs (e.g. Vaginicola, Thuricola, Vorticella) and Suctorians in my latest marine sample from the Gulf of Thailand.

A couple of interesting moments to point out:

0:48 - the second, smaller Vaginicola inside the lorica seems to be replicating
1:22 - a good look at the one-way valve inside the lorica of Thuricola which differentiates it from Vaginicola

Thanks. It turns out that there are both Vaginicola and Thuricola in the video. The loricas with valves indicate Thuricola. Very cool!

Fascinating video. The suctorians are lovely. especially the 1st one with the large lorica. Most lorica I've seen are more tube-like and closer against the body, not bulb-like. Very interesting!

Cheers, David
