The bodies of the protists in the water have made the water into a gel which floats on the surface. Hundreds of paramecia and smaller round ciliates are pressed together over the surface a small volume of what was originally water. There are hints that the biofilm may have reached its maximum density. I expect a decline to begin soon. I didn't see anything especially novel.
